Named after a nutmeg tree growing on site, this project had the core concept of bringing people together and fostering connection in the family through open spaces. And so, our design included a central massive volume where most of the active time will be spent by the family. To enhance cross ventilation through all sides, different themed courtyards were placed in each side such as a kitchen courtyard, a family living water courtyard, dining green courtyard etc. The central volume had specially designed louvre system at both ends which regulates temperature inside the entire residence. The main access was placed to capture the river view from the main door by maintaining necessary privacy to the entire functions. All rooms were provided with double layer roofing tiles with radiant barrier heat resistant sheets to reduce temperature as well as bringing in filtered north side light through louvres. Family living was designed in a sunken level to have more activities within space as well as to have more connection to adjacent water courtyard. Interior has been designed for maximum utility and to enrich tropical ambience through wooden shades.
